The Driller Killer is a 1979 horror film directed by and starring Abel Ferrara.

In the UK, it was on the so-called video NG list.

The film was released in 1979 and was banned in the UK in 1984 due to new censorship laws, but in 1999 a version that omitted 54 seconds of the head-drilling scene and the two earlier murders was approved as an 18+ film.

Synopsis:
As a painter struggles to pay his bills, create paintings, and take care of his two female roommates, he gradually becomes mentally unstable, and as a result, he begins to randomly kill dead people with a power drill on the streets of New York after dark.
