Nancy Drew is a 1939 American film directed by William Clemens and starring Bonita Granville as Nancy Drew.

Synopsis:
While participating in a contest for elementary school students to submit news articles for a local newspaper, Nancy, the daughter of local lawyer Carson Drew, receives a request for a genuine article.

She "covers" the autopsy of a poisoned woman.

Nancy, who does not believe that the young woman accused of the crime is guilty, persuades her neighbor Ted to search for important evidence, and the two discover the true identity of the culprit.
